The Big Crafty

Monday, July 9th, 2012

Yesterday was The Big Crafty in downtown Asheville, NC. I had a table selling my art and I had so much fun meeting people! Being a birder and selling bird art is really fun, people will talk birding with me and I got a few tips for the area.

The Big Crafty was a huge event with 150 booths!  As you can imagine there was a lot of talent and some great arts and crafts. I was pretty busy with my own table, during the last half hour it was slowing down so I darted around and took a few photos real quick, sorry I didn’t get any better ones…

Thanks for the great day Asheville!

A perfect Sunday for the Grandma Party Bazaar.

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

This past Sunday was Grandma Party Bazaar in Orlando. The weather was PERFECT, cool and sunny! It was a great day to be out and I think everybody was feeling it.  I had an awesome time hanging out there!

I snapped a few photos on the instagram. Here is a shot of my table:

The stuff at this event gets better every year. I am impressed by all the local talent.

Thanks for the beautiful day!

I did miss the Grandma/Grandpa choir this year, this old guy singing Christmas songs was my favorite thing last year:

One of the cool things about craft shows is hearing what people are looking for… this year I got requests for hummingbirds, (more) owls, pigeons, and swallow-tailed kites. I always take note, as my carnivorous plants piece came from a suggestion for more plants from last years Grandma Party.  So, hummingbirds are in the works!

While in North Carolina this month I went to The Big Crafty indie craft fair in Asheville. Lots of talent there! The place was packed! It was difficult to move around, I was frustrated with the crowd but hopefully it meant the artists had lots of sales. It was cool to see some new stuff.

Renegade Brooklyn

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

While I was in NYC a couple weeks ago I went to Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn. I spent way more than I intended to, got tons of ideas, and went home with a huge stack of business cards to remind me of things I want to get later.

As for buying things, I spent the most at Rinse. My feet were hurting from the trip, I felt dirty from the subway, and this was stuff was like magic. We even went back the next day to buy more. Love the peppofoot stick!

I bought one of the tiny crochet hair clips from Wren Handmade.

Tidiworld was so cute. I bought a towel with Little Red Riding Hood on it, which I intend to hang in my window.
